The Style
One of my favorite Audrey Hepburn movies is “Funny Face.” In that movie, one of the actors sings a song called “Think Pink.” Every single time I hear it, I smile. Pink is one of my favorite colors — it just makes me happy when I see it. It is a color that can be worn by all ages and all genders. A few years ago I purchased a polo from JCrew for my dad in this same pink color. It is one of his favorite polos and there is something so cute about seeing my dad, a former Marine, wearing a JCrew pink polo with pride.

The Mood
It is finally getting cold outside so I am excited to be able to wear this dress more often. I love fall/winter. I know most people do not, but there is something so great about curling up with a sweater under a blanket with a cup of tea on a cold day and just watching old movies. In this go-go-go era, it can be hard to just sit back and enjoy the moment, but I am working hard to take more time to do that. I am so fortunate to be able to have the luxury of flexibility in my life. I recently encountered a woman at the bus stop who asked me if I would call her job and let them know she was running late. I held out the phone for her so she could make the call herself. I overheard her telling her employer that she wasn’t able to call sooner because she did not have a phone and her roommate was not home. I thought about how, without hesitation, I go out and buy a new phone. Sometimes it is good to have a reminder that life is not always roses and rosé. So, I try to constantly give thanks and strive to positively affect those around me. In the words of Bob Marley, as posted to my Instagram yesterday, “the greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.”
