The Style
I purchased this dress from Nordstrom during the anniversary sale! I have been waiting for the temperature to drop just a little for me to really be able to rock this dress. It is so heavy that I simply could not wear it during the warmer months. One of my favorite dress-up dresses, this dress is made by Self-Portrait, which I have raved about on the blog before. Each of their pieces are made with exquisite detail. Since the dress is really what I want to stand out, I have paired it with my go-to Stuart Weitzman skin-tone heels and a gray Ferragamo purse.
The Mood
Do you ever have a dress you love so much you want to wear it while grocery shopping? That is how I feel about this dress. A stunning piece of craftsmanship, I feel guilty ever leaving it in my closet. I am constantly thinking about places that I can wear it — is it too much for grocery shopping?? Some might say it is, but, frankly, I try not to limit my clothes to specific occasions. Most of us probably grew up in households where certain items were reserved for “special occasions.” But, what if we dressed to the 9’s whenever we felt like it instead of waiting for an occasion? So, if you have a favorite dress or pair of shoes that you absolutely love, try wearing it to do something perfectly ordinary — our special clothes, those favorite pieces we hold dear, just by wearing them, we can make any moment a little bit more special.
