I started this blog back in October 2015 because I believe that everyone should take the time to look their best. Just because you have a serious job or you have kids or a busy life does not mean that you should not take the time to look polished and put together. Instead, I believe you should always take the extra time to really make yourself look your best because it will make you feel better as well.

As I have embarked upon my own life adventures over the past year, however, I have realized that you must also change your style on the inside if you really want to feel your best. Over the past year I have worked on “styling” my inside and by that I mean taking the time for a little self-exploration and choosing adventure. For example, I moved into a new apartment and took the time to really identify my home decorating style. Now, I have a space that is customized to my style, which I like to call elegant glam — silvers, grays, and creams with accents of pink and deep blue. I have always loved photography, but never really pursued it as anything more than a hobby. So, I built a website, started submitting my work to competitions and began working as an event photographer on the weekends. I have spent more time reading and less time watching tv. I exercise regularly and even took a yoga teacher training! I have met interesting people and taken long walks just to avoid a shortcut. I now pray regularly, laugh often and look for opportunities to uplift others every day.

So, as my reader, I have a challenge for you. Spend 2016 styling your inside and outside and then watch as you see your mood begin to change. I will give you tips, suggestions and encouragement along the way, but you have to be the one who wants to change. Remember, style is looking good on the outside and feeling good on the inside. Changing your style can change your mood.

P.S. In case you were wondering, I took that image during my beach roadtrip. Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head. Plus a little stop in Savannah on the way back!
