My coworker has been recommending I take a spoonful of turmeric every day. Let me just say this woman is well in her 50s and looks stunning so I trust any advice she gives me! Anyway, I can’t really stand to take a spoonful of turmeric so I came up with a recipe for a turmeric latte that really hits the spot in the morning. This is just a serving for one, but, obviously, you can alter it as you see fit. The only tools you will need are a small saucepan, a spoon, and a handheld frother. If you are one of those people who already has a machine that steams milk for you, then you can skip the frother and of course pour the milk over the ingredients. I will say, however, it tastes better when done in a saucepan. Let me know if you like it…
Ingredients:
- 1.5 Tbsp Turmeric (add more or less to suit your taste – you want it to be a rich golden color)
- 1 tsp Honey (add more or less depending upon desired sweetness)
- 8 oz Almond milk
- Pinch Nutmeg
Cook Time:
8-10 minutes
Serving size:
1 cup
Directions
- Heat almond milk in a saucepan over medium high heat for about 4 minutes (or until hot). Stir continuously. Do not let milk start to boil; if it does, turn down the temperature.
- Add turmeric while continuing to stir milk. Keep stirring until turmeric dissolves.
- Add honey to desired sweetness. Stirring until completely dissolved.
- Pour beverage from saucepan into mug. If desired, froth with handheld frother for one minute. Sprinkle nutmeg and turmeric on top.
- Enjoy immediately!
